    A Change in Approach

Sharpen the MindFor the past few weeks, I have been busily preparing drafts of query letters and book proposals for Project Superhero. During this time, I've been consulting with many individuals who have a working knowledge of the business, and from their advice and comments, something important has become quite clear. Project Superhero is too big to tackle at once.

It's too big. There's too much material to cover, too much travel, too much time needed, and it is looking to be far too expensive for one book. The cost alone will likely scare away many publishers. For example, I want to travel to Japan to meet Maasaki Hatsumi, the world's leading authority on ninjutsu traditions and training. Something like that is fully capable of being its own book, but in Project Superhero, it would merely be a passing chapter. You begin to see the problem - Project Superhero is huge.

Now, the original plan was that, while I pursue my training and study, I would also be writing articles for publication in magazines, thus supplementing the Project financially while also increasing awareness for the book. Upon further thought, I've decided that a modified version of this plan will be effective to keep the project running and moving forward.

Instead of simply writing articles about each area of training, I will write individual books. I will continue to further develop a course of study and training for Project Superhero, but will then break it down into peices that can function as stand alone works. When all is said and done, Project Superhero (the book) will still be written, and will have the same content, purposes, etc.

So, everythings pretty much the same, just different. Or is it that everything's different, but still fundamentally the same? Either way, work here at HQ will continue as normal.
